BetUK Bookmaker Review

Founded by a well-known brand in the gaming industry, Bet UK sure comes off as a promising new online betting site. The “operator” behind the curtain is LeoVegas, which has won numerous EGR awards in the past few years. Can they have the same success in the sports betting niche? Can Bet UK become the next big thing?

Odds, Interface and Betting Features

It’s confusing. The brand name leads us to believe that it’s sports betting oriented. However, it won’t take you long to realize that the sportsbook is just an extension of a decent online casino, with high quality online casino games. However, the range of sports, races and markets is competitive. Unlike other bookies, Bet UK has done a great job making the sportsbook compact and easy to navigate. Some of the sports you can bet on at Bet UK are Football, Tennis, Horse Racing, eSports, Darts, Cricket and Aussie Rules. The array is wider, and you are welcome to check it out first-hand. Just don’t forget about the £5 free bet.

The minimum bet amount is £0.10, and there the betting rule book is extensive and put on display. You can find it just below the menu showing you all the sports available at Bet UK.

Besides sports betting and horse racing, Bet UK’s customers can be on Virtual Sports. If you find this exciting, check out the menu line which is below the main menu bar. You can bet on Virtual Football, Virtual Greyhounds and Virtual Horse Racing. Moreover, Bet UK allows customers to view the sportsbook in decimal, fractional and American odds.

Safety

Despite being new on the online betting market, Bet UK is 100% safe and reliable bookie. The product, and their operations are in line with the extensive rule book of the UK Gambling Commission, and the leading responsible gambling agency in the UK, the GambleAware. It’s also a proud supporter of GamCare. The usual security systems and/or protocols are in place, such as SSL encryption, privacy policy, and the payment providers are all verified and well known to the public.

Bet UK recommends setting deposit limits, using the reality check feature, and if necessary they offer the now mandatory time-out and customers can also self-exclude. You can find all of these features in your account.

We trust Bet UK in spite of the “new betting site” label because we’re well familiar with its parent company. Otherwise, we’d probably recommend being cautious. However, in this case, you can feel safe and take advantage of all betting opportunities Bet UK has to offer.

Withdrawal Policy, Payment Options

Disappointing, at least at this stage. Accepting credit, debit cards and Paysafecard as alternative payment options is not enough. We want e-wallets, we want PayPal and we want mobile deposits. Bet UK has failed on all fronts. As a UK facing betting site, PayPal has become a threshold payment option. In other words, bookies which do not accept e-wallet deposits, like PayPal for instance, fail in the medium to long term.

However, we have to give it to them, they are transparent. Due to the nature of the payment options, the withdrawal periods can take up to 7 days to complete. Here’s a breakdown of the withdrawal times at Bet UK.

The minimum withdrawal threshold is favourable, but again, the withdrawal options are underwhelming. We hope to see more added, the likes of Skrill, NETeller, PayPal and/or Boku.

Other Betting Features

Let’s be honest, this is not William Hill, or Paddy Power or Ladbrokes. This is a little fledgling which has the resources to make a difference, in a way. There are no advanced jaw dropping betting features that can have a significant impact on your overall satisfaction. It’s a polished online betting website, with diverse betting offer, and a trustworthy brand.

In-play Betting

The live betting offer is admirable, with mainly because we find it easy to navigate. However, the offer itself, the markets, the diversity, they might disappoint some of you. If you’re focused on the popular ones, you will have a wonderful live betting experience at Bet UK. Otherwise, you might have to look for other options, like the similar sportsbooks listed below. Needless to say, if the match is great importance or it has steered a lot of attention, there could be a few extra markets added on top of the regular ones.

Again, the interface is outstanding. Unlike some other well-established bookies which have refused to update their design because they don’t want to “harm” their existing customers, you should find it extremely easy to navigate the odds and the markets.

Matches that are available for in-play betting come with a real time match tracker. It’s simple, yet it makes the experience more pleasant. Without a doubt, bet365 has the best match tracker, but Bet UK’s tracker is doing a fine job.

We couldn’t find any other features which might interest punters who are into live betting in particular. Needles to say, casual sports bettors will definitely enjoy Bet UK.

VIP Sports Betting Program

Bet UK vigorously advertises the VIP club for its trusted and loyal casino players. However, there’s no information about the existence of any Sports Betting VIP program. This is no reason for concern, as most online bookmakers do not have VIP programs, at least not ones that are public.

Betting is very much different than gaming, it’s more dynamic and requires a hands on approach when it comes to rewarding VIP and loyal customers. This is probably one of the key reasons why we don’t see as many VIP sports betting programs as we like to.

Email & Live Chat on Demand

Should there ever comes a need for professional assistance, you can get in touch with the Bet UK customer support department. We recommend using live chat if possible. To initiate a live chat session, simply click on the red button located in the bottom right corner of the screen. Before you can start the chat, you first must use the search box, which in fact browses for matches in the FAQ page of Bet UK. Once you select an option, you can start chatting.

Live chat is not the only option. You can also send email directly to Bet UK at support@betuk.com. However, we see no reason why anyone would email Bet UK instead of using the live chat. Verifying your account is probably the only reason why you’d send them an email.

What about phone support at Bet UK? At the time of writing, there was no phone support at Bet UK, which is a major disappointment. All of its competitors do offer phone support.

Note, the working hours of the Bet UK customer support department is 8 AM to 12 AM.
